My work just became a lot more versatile. This simple cartoon is a result of three weeks of study and posework.

Here I have drawn a cartoon that explains my lack of work for the past... few months. The punchline of the cartoon isn't so important as the cartoons existance itself. (Hence the title.)

Interesting to note here is the addition of a human being to the mix. Strikingly, familiar, eh? Shaul superficially resembles Shimdra who superficially resembles myself (but only because I cannot for the life of me draw a human being.) In fact, three weeks ago the best I could do was a stick figure, but after realizing the human face was composed of a specific series of lines and angles (and after breaking down those lines to match up with different parts of the face) I was able to make something recognizeable. I also remembered what Karnanyd said about the space between parts of the face being more important than the accuracy of the parts of the face themselves. So after a good bit of mirror watching, and ratio-ing I got onto paper something I can actually be happy with.

Sure, the lines are still squiggly, the angles awkward, and some parts look unnatural, but it's a cartoon. I LIKES IT. Muahahahaha. I'll be working on technique now. I'll have plenty of time this summer, I think, if I'm lucky. So those of you who I owe a picture should get them sometime soon. (Soon as in not next year.)

By the way the book I'm holding is labeled "How to annoy Turtles"
